The day that I have lived is underneath my fingernails
Dirt from the garden
Sour cream at lunch
Kool-aid mix and sugar

The person that I am is underneath my fingernails
Make-up from my face
Eraser from my drawing
Gel from my hair

The person that I love is underneath my fingernails
The cologne that you wear
Ketchup from the fries we shared
Hair from your dog

Evidence of living is underneath my fingernails
