Song of the Stars
Those bright-mattered nebulae,
that wrinkle the universal zero,
have sung us their violet song,
and the Pleiades converged
into a celestial chorus.
Antares, Betelgeuse, Polaris!
Your tragic serenades boom and deafen
Our own myopias, teeming
in soup-green dirt, microtic,
primordial and unimportant.
They extend us helping hands:
Starlight; cold and flaming.
We bathe in neutrino-rain
and our atoms are excited:
ground-state transforms to elevation.
Mind, Body, and Mother-board.
