blizzard
Everything slows for a second,
Music twists its way,
snake-like,
through the car.
We laugh,
joke,
share stories like the perfect family as the blizzard rages on.
Everything's alright for a little.
I roll down the window and
taste the snowflakes dancing through the cold winter air.
My brother dares me to chuck a snowball at the car next-door.
I do it.
We laugh,
clutching our stomachs with the pain of happiness,
our faces lit up.
Everything slows for a second,
until they unblock the road,
let the cars through, and the snow morphs to rain.
Times resumes its normal pace,
and the moment
is
gone
