a droplet of water
as clear as can be
dropped from a grumpy cloud
and into the sea

it continued its journey
throughout the water
rolling in on the waves
and then it saw her

it splashed onto shore
just as quick as can be
it landed on her
after its journey through the sea

she was a beautiful sight
she had dark eyes and golden hair
tall and thin
no imperfection anywhere

the droplet of water
had to meet her, you see
so it jumped from the wave
and landed on her-it was key

the droplet left his home
and traveled far away
the water gave it all up
for on this maiden to stay

the drop lived not long after
as it trickled down her face
it knew the end was near
but it was in the perfect place

it lived but one moment
as it landed on her lips
and died soon thereafter
only for that one, fateful kiss.
