"The way to get started is to quit talking and begin doing."

~Walt Disney

Sitting on my bed typing useless phrases into this empty computer,
She sits next to me silent and sleeping peacefully.
The slightest movement disturbs her,
Jerking up she scans carefully protecting my tranquil environment.

She looks at me angelic eyes reassuring my safety,
She knows curls back into her ball and continues to rest.

I glance at her every so often,
Her body widens slightly, and then shrinks as she takes a breath.
There are noises leaving her somewhat parted lips as she takes another breath.

I sit on my bed with her at my feet resting and waiting,
I feel calm as this insignificant creature becomes a valuable friend to me.

This poem is truly my observation of Brooke as she sleeps by my feet.
