Friends, there are three
They frolic and play
Where their mothers can see
So nothing will lead them astray

Now there is two...
For the first one was lost
There was nothing they could do
Her life was the cost

Just one is left
She sits here and swings
For death was the theft...
As her old age sings

The author's comments:
Over the summer, my aunt died, and she was my best friend. She had Down Syndrome, and she lived to be 50. We spent so much time together, and I love her so much. When she died, it was like a part of me died with her. And I was so sad and confused I needed to get something on paper.
