A Christmas Night
It was a dark and stormy Christmas night;
Through the blinds shone the candlelight,
As one sat on the window sill.
Gathered around the fire,
The Christmas lights we admired;
Listening to the thunder still.
Then mom told me to go to bed.
“Merry Christmas, sleepy head”,
Seeing that I was falling asleep on her lap.
“Just think of the Santa’s reindeer’s hooves
Running up upon our roof
Every time you hear the thunder crash.”
