Sugar Ants
They came to our living ground,
They offered us a treat,
They said it was candy,
It all looked so sweet.
We dug right in,
Unaware of the danger,
We ate to survive,
Like a lost park ranger.
Ill we soon felt,
For poison it was,
We felt so helpless,
Deathly so helpless,
We soon died slowly.
Pain indescribable,
Why cause us pain?
Who’s held liable?
But no charges presses,
No justice served,
Why the hell not?
We got what we deserved?
We did nothing wrong,
No disrupting rants,
We just tried to live,
Innocent sugar ants.
