Stand Proud and Kneel Humbly
Through the ups and downs of middle school trauma
I try to hold my head high and stay out of the drama
Through the stabs in the back and the slaps in the pace
I keep standing tall I don't break my pace
With great effort I hold my unstable ground
If I don't try hard I know I'll fall down
Because sometimes it's impossible to stand proud
At the end of the day I was almost in tears
I had pushed back my pain and all of my tears
I pretended I didn't care if they trampled on me
But the pain cut harshly, the scars went deep
At the end of the most stressful, dreadful day
I almost forgot to stop and pray
There's only one who can perfectly heal
There's a time to stand proud and a time to kneel
