Depressed Child
“why can they push me around?” she asked with hate
she wept with pain and cursed on fate
“why can’t I be like everyone else?” she sighed in defeat
she has no love, no friends to meet
why try to win? your soul memorized the pain of fail.
why strike the hammer upon your broken nail?

give up now. let the worthy seek the light
she slashed her thighs and wrists and heart…
trying to rid herself of any good part.
a stranger asks, “what have you done?”
she hung her soul; intended pun
