Snowflake Dancers

January 14, 2010

Tiny dancers clad in white lace

Cartwheeling down from steely clouds

And stormy skies

Finally landing with a sigh

On the frozen ground

To watch fellow snowflakes make the same journey

And create an icy, shimmering blanket

Of white

To watch them conceal Autumn's fallen leaves,

And cover weathered, gray branches,

And soften wandering roads

Making the world look

At least for a while

Fresh, and new, and pure
