Heroes get remembered,
legends never die,
the only test
that can withstand time.

Being remembered is one thing,
yet living on is another,
still alive in the heart
of a particular other.

For it is not memories
that keep you alive,
it's the feelings you provoked
that helped others calmly reside.

Legends are our idols,
the people we admire most,
the ones who were always there
so to them I make this toast:

Thank you for the love you gave,
the hugs we earned,
and the games we played.
The laughs we shared
and the memories we made.
The talks we've had
