I'm in a coma like state,
Warm
Comfortable
Happy.
Then my alarm goes off.
I open my eyes
To see the blood red numbers
Flash 6:30
I pound the little blue box with my fist
To silent the ringing.
It stops.
Happiness returns,
My mother
then steps into my dark room
Revealing the light from the hallway
Blinding me completely.
Now I have to get up.
I pull myself out of my warm cacoon
To feel the
Sharp
Icy
Air
Hit my bare skin.
I shiver.
Then drag my feet across the beige carpet
Onto the cool ceramic tiled floor.
I lift my head up
To see mt thick brown hair,
Stuck
In wads, tangles, and curls.
My face,
Totally bare.
My gray Fayetteville Bulldogs T-shirt
Wrinkled.
And my black Diadora softball shorts
Turned sideways.
Its going to take me a while
This morning.
