Up in the Sky
Land of bulls, bucks, and steers
Eight seconds separate a boy from a man
Horizons of rocky ledges block view from distant prairies
Snow capped mountains seem so lonely
The town of the smiling girl with the metal teeth
Gunpowder and smiles
The snow so lonely
Wrapped in happiness
Children jumping from rocks into the cool water
A blur of colors as they fall
Entering the dark tunnel you look back
They had tried to hold you there
Trap men in their grasps
Beyond the long prairies
Beyond the storms a town is hidden in the shadow of the mountains
Only those with the gusto to last eight seconds are known as men.
