you tell me i should be myself
yet you tell me what to like
i shoot for individuality
and you just shoot me down
you tell me to fly
but you take away my wings
i want to be free
but you lock me up in chains
so i'll just sit here
waiting to be free
for the day when
you really mean the words you say
and the chains let me break free
