is there ever a time when you don't feel alone
when the glass isn't blurred by the rain
when you don't see the wall that hangs in the air
surrounding you always but they can't see
when the strains of the symphony no longer resound
echoing faintly in the lonely distant halls
does it ever stop or is it life
is it only me or is it all them
do we all feel this
do we all have to fight this wall that surrounds us

The author's comments:
I've often struggled with loneliness compounded by shyness, and this is a reflection of that.
