A SECOND

A small,
Fracture of time,
Yet, hollowed out,
Ringing and tolling
The bells of pain
And laughter.
A gap,
Between breath
With little room
For a whisper,
A rumor,
Or a kiss.
A second,
The smallest measure
With the greatest meaning.

This inspiration for this poem came from school. I've been watching the clock lately, and it seems this year, a second is longer than what it seems to be like.
