Love
truly a girt from above
a pleasure in it's own way
but not without a price to pay

for within love that's true
you'll find a burden too

with your heart given to so many others
every pain they ache
you too will suffer

for those with the purest hearts
are torn a little bit apart

you live no longer for your own body
but many

you've become a human shield
one that will never yield
you set out to guard
all those you cherish
even if you yourself must perish

but, for all that
you are still glad

because you understand
you know
it's a great gift
to have love to show
