In a land filled with blue wonder
Is a place I have never known
Filled with lightening, rolling thunder
With stars that have never shone

As I walk along the ground of sand
I see prisoners that have been set free
And I long for the feel of my own land
Not these dark depth of the sea

I cannot understand their ways
For these are ones of mystery
Yet I long to stay here all of my days
For my own land has no such history

I knew my land would soon be lost
And yet, I knew there was still hope
I felt the pain, paid the cost
And now with lasting faith I cope

Ever and ever will the sea stay blue
I realize that a journey is coming near
And to leave this place I never knew
Now my path becomes unclear

I stare out into the dark of night
And remember my lost land
I see a lone star, shining bright
And realize forever, that alone shall never stand

The author's comments:
four most used words: I, land, my, and various other words ending with "-and", thus rhyming with "land". I wrote it in....seventh grade, for English homework. Not very good, but it's been publish twice -- although one time it was by poetry.com, so that can't really count -- so I figured what the heck. I'm not fully sure what the message is yet though....
