And The Tears Mix With Water Below

she frantically pounds
her fists into
that same old shower wall
in an attempt to break through
that same old frustration
boiling in her head.
she can't describe
the turmoil within
and has no desire to try,
even though they say it's best
not to bottle up such things.
but all she's known
throughout her time in this life
is to hide all her feelings inside
and wear a smile
to please everyone.
now showers were only a cover
used to hide the tears
the world would never see her shed.
and there she sat,
on the bottom of the bathtub
thinking about
everything,
nothing,
and all in between.
