It took all the color from my world,
a once vibrant, lively place
and all that remains
a gray, dusty land without much grace;
Now we see how strong this depression is.

But you've put in my hand
a paintbrush, and a palette of colors too;
I know you want to help,
believe me, I want you to,
but I'm the only one who knew the texture
of the meaning behind my dreams;
I'm the only one who knew
how strong their shades should be.
I'm the only one who knows
the correct shade of optimism;
the colors of my life,
just take my hand, please,
and remind me that to this
I still have the right.

Remind me by showing me
your own special brand of care;
show me a reference,
so I can help make it there.
Remind me that you love me,
though it's the one thing I can't forget,
remind me too that my future
is, as ever, as bright, with
or without you,
as the day we met.

This is very sweet and moving. Do you know the song "The Artist" by The Hush Sound...this reminded me of it, may be you'd like to check it out. Anyway, back to your work, I enjoyed the painting motif because it's just really strong and creates other memories to go alongside with the colors and images. good job :) perhaps you'd like to check out some of my other work...I think you'd enjoy it.
