Favorite Quote:
Love God. Love people.

The walls, torn down.
Old growth, discarded.
Stone heart, replaced, no longer hardened.

New Life breathed in,
Old Life breathed out.
New Hope arises,
Old Doubt falls.

Eternal Grace, bestowed.
Mercy, freely given, everyday, for He loves.

My life, now changed.
New eyes, now see.
New ears, now hear.
New heart, now loves.
New mouth, now sings His praises,
For He is holy.

New feet, now run.
New hands, now work.
New mind, now thinks.
New body, now sacred and holy to Him, for He saves.

But the Old Life, it pulls.
Old Life, it calls, me, to forsake this New Life I have found in Him.

Old Life, distracts.
Old Life, wants.
Old Life, eats.
Old Life, grows.
Old Life, limits, me.

From doing, His pure and holy will.
From learning, His pleasing statutes.
From teaching, His truth.
From shining, His blinding light.
From discipling, His children, with His solid and unshakeable Word.

I must feed this New Life.
I must starve this Old Life.
I must not forget.
I must not tarry.
I must not fondle, nor flirt, with this acidic Old Life.
I must surrender, my life, my all.
I will not drive,
Those rusty nails,
Deeper,
Into His wrists,
On Calvary’s Tree.

I was driven to write this poem because every Christian engages in a battle with his or her life in Christ and his or her "Old Life" everyday.
