Birthday

December 10, 2009
By Anonymous

Birthdays should not be spent like that.
Celebrating your life when you hear what happened.
Washing the terrorizing thoughts from your mind,
When you find out how.
I think I passed out.

Weeks of sleeplessness go by,
Tears line faces months later.
One person opened eyes to thousands.
One action affected lifetimes.

I don’t forget.
I still go camping.
Waking up drowsy from my sleeping,
Seeing you there.
I ride in the back of that car,
Oh, the memories

I wear this art to remember,
To show the beauties.
It is the last thing I have of you.

I miss you so much.

I was inspired by my friend, whom died on my birthday.

Oh my god. That was amazing. I love your phrase, "I wear this art to remember". This piece was really eye-opening, I think. Wonderful job.
