She used to sit on the power meter
Hoping life would be shocked into her

She would whisper silent prayers
Begging God to rewrite her plan

She sat listening to the birds fly
Crying out to them to help her fly

She would sit behind the wheel of a car
Selfishly asking someone to make that one mistake
“It was an accident” they’d tell people

Constantly she dreamt
Only wishing to never hit reality again
