The young lady in blue
Anticipation and apprehension in her gaze
Eyes darting all around the room
Searching, surveying her surroundings
She spots him, near the entrance
A moment, interlocked eyes
Silence, then smiles spread wide
Her heart skips at the sight of him.
Walking towards her, he sees nothing else
Lost in the brown abyss of her eyes
Taking her hand and placing it to his lips
Admiration lights her figure
He leads her to a table, isolated from the crowd
Slow music is playing, nostalgia of recognition
A knowing smile and a squeeze of the hand
Many shadowed stares throughout the meal
Plates are cleared away
She gets up, he urges her to sit
Nervousness clear in his countenance
As he pulls out a velvet box
Tears in her eyes as she sees the gleaming gem.

Every girl dreams of finding that special someone that they want to spend their lives with. I have met that special someone, and this poem reflects the dreams and hopes we have for the future.
