A Woman Lies Alone
A woman lies alone.
Her room breathes to the rythm
of machines pushing
air into her lungs.
Under the hum of Fluorescents
they com.
Both young and old--
eight to eighty--
they gather round her.
In a circle they hold hands
and say goodby and pray to god
and for a moment they are
one with eachother,
one with god,
one with her,
and though she dies
they remain
their bond forever loyal,
forever strong.
