Ode to foliage
Ode to foliage
When summer days
Come crashing down
and its long days
begin to dwindle
The cold starts
stealing your breath
like a plunge
into Maine's ocean
The leaves begin to change
Orange first, but darker
than the fruit
Then yellow which looks
as warm as the sun
eventually crispy brown
Then they fall
How strange
the change from life to death
could be so colorful
Like the Foliage.
