For Mom, who chose the spelling of my name after getting her epidural.
Selected with purpose
I bare it with pride
Because it’s unique
I may have to say over
What letters stay solo
And what letters repeat
The spelling was chosen
To make me unlike the rest
If I could have done it myself
I wouldn’t change it back
To the simpler version
All boring and flat
Usually there is a question I’m asked,
“What was your mother thinking?”
