love knows not its own depth till the hour of seperation by kahlil gibran

I was running at this point
Not running from life or problems
But running to sanctuary from my stress
Where voices didn’t scream from all directions
I was almost there now
I could almost feel the fire dull in my eyes
The tension in my body loosened
My heavy breathing now became more even
Now all I could hear were the leaves under my feet
Cracking leaves, snapping twigs and my steady breathes
I was running to “my” tree
Where I went when my parents fought
This was my way to stay strong
I scaled the tree in a rush
I could feel a sharp edge cut me
But I didn’t care; I was safely in my haven
I could hear the birds sing
The wind whistle around me
I could see the North Star above
The night sky blanketed me in serenity
The moon whispered a soft lullaby
My tree me close like my mother once had
Father time held me at peace
I was now calm as I drifted to sleep
