Children, with just enough instinct to play
Let the waves lap at their feet
On the shore of Eden
In the ocean of Dreams

Where they begin.

The timid let the waves
Crest at their toes
Graced with a dream
A single white rose

And the sirens sing
Beckoning
Drawing the brave to the currents
Drowning in dreams
Gasping their way to air
Those who dared: victors, emerge bursting with breath

Many waltz in
Pocketing their dream
Glancing over their shoulder
As they embark with esteem
Letting it slip through the stitches
Of their armor

Original sin emerges
And the fingers of greed
Slip into wallets
Housing a gift for the love of children with losses
Who just arrived from a swim in generosity
Who sifted through the shore
For the dew that was overlooked
Knowing they would need it one day
A dream to lend to someone else
Someone who stood at the bay
And shook

Gilded with gold
The best dreams sink to the bottom
Requiring the courage to submerge yourself
To forget to be afraid
To forget to be brave
And when you can stand to sink no longer
You find you heart
And leave.

Turning your back on the ocean
On children laughing with commotion
On the glares that summer radiance sings
Joyfully bouncing off waves
From the sun that never sinks

Harmonizing with the moon
Turn your back to Eden
And fight the fire in your eyes
Voyagers from a ship
Sailing from your soul
Bursting forth, and one escapes

Revealing your dream.

I was thinking of a perfect place, and how life would be so much easier if we all had a dream to chase.
