The lost eyes of a child
Piercing blue and kind
They hide the fear and sadness
That is concealed within his mind

His thoughts are left unspoken
And his actions nearly untouched
He sees that the evil has awoken
The silence barely brushed

To them his words mean nothing
A ghost of a whisper that has already died
He longs to do something
Everyone thinks this is all a lie

They run at him like savages
Their spears raised high in the midnight air
Simon falls with a purpose of failure
But the killers can only stare
