A Simple Glance
As we pass each other in the hallway I concentrate on staring at the unremarkable tiles rather than your remarkable face.
I glance up only for a second to find your smiling face looking back.
I try to work up the courage to say something only to open my mouth to find nothing comes out.
Day after day my confidence becomes less and less, I can barely stand to lift my head in the hall anymore, afraid you wont be returning my gaze.
The same routine continues all year, finally on the last day i tell myself its now or never.
I life my gaze steadily to find he was glancing back.
