For Best Friends

October 24, 2009

Where are we going in the future?
How did we get there from the past?
I can't remember getting older;
I want these days to last.

We should never part now.
Your life is in my heart.
This isn't a promise it's more like a vow,
Our memories will never part.

You'll always be my friend forever.
You'll always hold a special space.
The two of us are now together.
We are in this special place.

Now we are getting older,
Wiser and smarter too.
Our bravery is getting bolder.
I'm glad that I know you.

Although these years are flying,
I wish you'd stay 'till the end.
Our friendship isn't dying.
It's just continuing my best friend.

I actually wrote this on a subway in Washington D.C. on my cell phone. It's about how best friends will never forget each other. This piece is dedicated to my best friend.

This is such a touching poem, and the writter is very talented. Her maturity is amazing to me. It is impressive beyond words that a teenager can express herself in such a deeply emotional way.
