She was treated like a dog in that house.
Her father used her in many experiments.
His last one labeled her as a failure.
With the proof on her shoulders,
She wandered many years with her scars.
Once a dog with a roof over her head,
She is now a dog lost in the world.
Hiding herself, healing herself.
But the scars are still there.
She is separate from the world,
Because she is different.
A failure.
Labeled by her own father.
She is separate.

The author's comments:
My English teacher showed us a picture of a girl with TV for her head. She was carrying a stuffed animal in one hand and a blanket in the other and the background had an eerie look to it. She told us to write a poem on the girl's background and this poem is the result.
