Living Love
I am from wheat bread,
From Kraft and Bosox.
I am from homey warm colors on the walls,
With the stone mantel in the center.
I am from the plump red tomato plants outside Grandma and Grandpa's,
Vines wrapping around the porch,
Summer picnics at the beach and competetive water balloon fights,
From Granny Grunt and Grandpa "B".
I'm from Sunday naps and pizza night on Friday's,
From finish your vegetables and don't be shy.
I am from Bless us oh lord and St. Mary's Church,
Christmas Eve mass and Easter bread.
I'm from Massena and Italy,
Spaghetti and meatballs, fresh cookies and pies.
From finding ten dollar bils rolled up in our homeade mittens.
The vacation to Nag's Head in the beautiful house on the ocean,
Sneaking Krispy Kremes whenever possible.
Always together, no matter how far apart,
Cheering and believing in one another,
Looking out and protecting from harm.
I'm from loving, caring, appreciating, understanding.
Honesty, hope, laughter-
Everything anyone could ever want and more...
