The light is bright and burning
Shined on me, my transparent skin
Every detail maximized
Come close but don’t come in.

Squeezed tight in this body suit
I hate it; make it go
My own worst enemy
I’m the butterfly and the crow.

You raise me up but I don’t believe
Can’t see what you see
I know you’re lying
Why can’t I leave me be?

Don’t want to see my reflection
It makes the feeling worse
I hate the way I’m feeling
Get rid of this curse.

You raise me up
But I can’t stand my critique
Your one against my two
My optimism is weak.

I hate the way I hate myself
And anything I do
Always shoving myself down
I wish I could be you.

I've always had problems with my esteem. I tried to convey how it feels in this poem.
