unlike most
we build down
we strip away the blocks
separate the interior from the exterior
leaving a skeleton to stand alone on the pavement
wondering when a crooked heartbeat will care to take a breath inside its shell
when a forgotten beast will dwell inside it once again in its limited forensic rooms with pale robes covering its walls
old English photos reminding eyes of the lost buried underground
rhinoceros' roots shoot about to arrange a new family tree
and forever down around they go
diving to new roots and ends
building down
unlike most

Someone gave my article one star. To them, I just want to say that they have bad taste. This poem has been reviewed by judges and poets countless times and has been published in national publications three times. I am proud of my poetry and for someone to say otherwise is wrong.
