"I am his Highness' dog at Kew;
Pray tell me, sir, whose dog are you?" -Alexander Pope

I feel like I'm absorbing so much
but not given the knowledge
to vocalize
I feel like my finger prints may
remain on whatever I
touch
like patterns
learned over time
I want to peal the skin
off of my face in
one sturdy movement
and hold in
my hands the
sedated feeling of accomplishment

I feel
rejected

I feel like a product of my environment

I am the worm stuck to your shoe
after it rains
I am your bleeding lip
after binging on
amphetamines
I am an insignificant bystander
in all of your dreams
I am what you thought was real
until you learned things are never what they seam
I am the collaborative thoughts
of every human being
I am those cuts on your arm
that never finished healing
I am nothing more than
a complex
feeling
