A grounded swimmer,
his shoulders hunched
his lanky arms set back
against the Chicago wind.

Off went the trigger!
He shot straight,
a human bullet,
feet clapping with
the hot sidewalk.

Instantly!
The clapping feet
shook hands with
the concrete wall
and hugged the
air as each vertebra
plunged over a spinal
roller coaster.

Finally ending in a
finale, a reunion of
feet to Earth.
Red-faced like a drunken
sailor, he blinked.

The world was a ship,
being tousled and turned.
With another blink,
he became the cheerful
anchor, strolling through
the rolling waves
of his World.
