Reayd To Be Free
I’m tired of waiting for the endless rush of being free-
To feel empty air beneath my un-spread wings,
To stretch and glide; to feel wind blowing through my tousled hair.
I’m tired of being locked up behind bars, just waiting to live my life-
To run and skip; to feel the solid earth beneath my waiting feet,
To spin and frolic; to smell the sweet scent of fragrant wild flowers in full bloom.
I’m tired of following everyone else’s rules, when I just want to break them all-
To yell and scream; to feel a sense of pointless uncontrollable rebellion,
To pout and stomp my feet when someone tells me “no”.
I’m tired of listening to people telling me I’m not perfect, when I just want to be myself-
To laugh and cry; to let my emotions flow like a wide rushing river,
To walk and run in a full out sprint; to live my life at my own pace.
I’m ready to be free.
