In Maine, winter arrives sooner than expected
Incoming pushy breezes fill up the temperatures
Sometimes it drains the warmth out of your flushed cheeks
The breeze rises up memories into your nose
You remember the smell of that one shivering day on the field
You ran onto mammas side of the bench and sat on her lap
She tucked you inside her hideous coat
Dad brought that back for her from Moscow
You always had strong hate towards that coat
The fade of olive green floral prints all over mom made you dizzy
It always gave you the thought of when dad left that day
That one cold cruel breezy day in mid afternoon
And father waved his hands good-bye forever and entered the bus
