I silently screamed
As my thoughts
Were being rudely interrupted
By the people’s laughter.
I was insulted by their joy.

I sat there quietly
Impatient,
Waiting for his arrival.
I sat there suppressing my agony
When I discovered vulnerability.
The meaning no longer frightened me.
I was able to see its beauty
I realized,
Pride no longer shielded me.
And I no longer thirsted for it.
I needed him.
My best friend.

It had been two long years
Since I had the chance to meet you again.
Color
Has introduced us as strangers.
Though we may be blind
The others are not.
Your mother is not.
I am seen as dirt
And you as snow.

But I’ll open my curtains
And let the sun peek through my window
Let it pour its light
Let the rays warm my heart
I’ll let the rays touch my skin.
I’ll let them travel through my veins
And condemn me with their clarity.

I confess
I am sitting here
Hopelessly
Waiting.

Remember
As I say this:
I am water
I am the sun.
I am dirt.
I am the flower.

SPECTACULAR! I love this, it's so deep, and the ending is especially good! I love how you say "I was able to see it's beauty", it's just so sweet and so powerful. Great job!
