Sister
October 18, 2009
A sister is someone who is always there
she will be the one to love and care
she takes your heart and holds on tight
and releases it when you find love at first sight
she sticks by your side rather decision bad or good
shes the only one who understood
shes with you through the long hard years
even when you have cried oh so many tears
she is the one to thank
for what your life has to make
to her there is only one thing to say
but it must be done in a very special way
when sister is said
she never questions who
she just looks smiles and says
"I will always love you!"

Your poem was outstanding! I do not have a sister though and I never really wanted one until I read this piece. I had never realized so many great things there were about a sister. I loved the first two lines, " A sister is someone who is always there she will be the one to love and share". These two lines were so powerful to me and made me want to read on. I also loved the smooth fluency it had to it. I did not understand what you meant when you stated "when sister is said she never questions who she just smiles and says I will always love you!". I was unsure of who would be saying sister and why, were they thanking her? However, this is truly the best piece I had ever read on TeenInk, you should write more poems. Keep up the great work!
