She is a pony tail, bobbing along nonchalantly
She is a wondering pair of big blue eyes
as a façade to every thought
an arched eyebrow phrases her questions
a pale phantom gliding along the halls
She is a rare smile and friendly hello
a mute at home
only He unlocks her tender voice
she minds no one’s business
and hopes no one minds her’s
She bites her lip in a failing attempt to expunge cascading worries
A hospitable, steaming shower melts her stress away
and she depends upon a book
as keeper
to the serenity swathed inside the towel
She lives as a diary overstocked
with bursting emotions
but the cover still holds
and the clasp still grasps
the restless pages suppressed together
