Impressionless

Don’t know why I’m crying
I just stand there,
And let these foreign tears paint my face
with the saltiness of hope and loss.

That’s what I should be feeling:
I know this, at least.
I have a dull awareness of these strange, fleeting feelings
but they flit across my conscience,

Impressionless.

Is that what I have become,
unable to feel?
Knowing it should hurt,
but unable to register the wound?
Incapable of knowing why these tears keep falling?

Thank you. When I checked, I found that Impressionless is only a word in some dictionaries, not universally recognized. So the title seemed perfect in that sense.

This is captured perfectly, This is very well written.

I know what you mean. It's great that you're able to express yourself like that, writing been so comforting to me. Poetry falls like tears when I'm upset. I have a hard time expressing pain outside the page. So I know what you mean. :) I hope you're feeling better now. May blessings crown you!! lol :)

Thank you! I like being able to write right when I feel something, so that I can really capture exactly how I feel, and why. When I wrote this I was actually crying.
