Favorite Quote:
Even though things are headed one way, be prepared for them to flip course and go the opposite way, because, trust me, it will happen.

Life is too short
The goods are in port
But we'll never reach 'em
And yet we still swim
It makes no sense,
On what we depend
How do we know
Where we go?
Keep on moving
The waves sound soothing
We follow our instincts
And try not to think
Some float and some sink
Yet some never drink
Things happen daily
And some smile gaily
As you sit and ponder
Others are filled with wonder
To sit and think
Causes most to sink
Others float about
And rally around
But still some swim
And I want to be them
Determined to make it
While others just fake it

The author's comments:
I wrote this one day in Science, my freshman year of high school. I'm not going to lie, it was hard to write, but at the same time it flowed with precision and grace from my mind to my paper. It's weird to explain and hard to understand. I love this poem and it's on here because my teacher thought it was good enough and encouraged me to try and get it published, thanks Mr. Mills!
