Behind a golden throne
Glossy emeralds glow
A looking glass of love and hope
The sweet red wine will flow

Beneath the pale silk
Of alabaster hearts
You blossom, a rose
As the looking glass departs

The author's comments:
This poem is about losing childhood and how painful it is to watch someone you love lose their innocence. There are a lot of metaphors in this, and is written from personal experience.
