The Most Important Meal of the Day

I sprint down the newly polished mahogany staircase to get to the first meal of this cold winter day. I shovel scrambled eggs onto my plate and drizzle salt on them, resembling the snowflakes outside. The pancakes soar into the air off of the sizzling pan and the chocolate buttery taste slides into my mouth as smoothly as synchronized swimmers. I pour the golden brown syrup onto my plate until the rim overflows with sugary joy.
