let me die and go to heaven

let me die and go to heaven
and with my gossamer wings i shall dance
in the glorious sun.
or let me die and go to hell
and i shall warm the hands of my Soul
in the scorching flame.
for the real hell
is infinite nothing.
to have a Soul as silent
as the pulseless body it once inhabited.
or worse.
to find that the Soul
along with the god to which
all our prayers were sent to
in little white envelopes
sealed with the tongue of our faith
was as existent
as the imaginary friends
that the childhood versions of ourselves
once
believed in.
