At first I was so shocked
I couldn’t believe it to be true
That after all these years
I ended up with you
I thought about you every night
I knew you’d never play me
I wished for you to think of me
And want to come and save me
I wondered how you had turned out
I had hoped for the best
I considered each little detail
I became quite obsessed
“I” became “you and me”
“You and me” became “we”
And I know I’ll love you forever
Though forever’s not guaranteed
